Tamim revealed that he had an open discussion with a high-ranking official of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The official allegedly advise him that he would be include in the World Cup squad but subject to certain physical requirements. This includes sitting out the first game against Afghanistan and being push down the batting order.

Tamim highlighted his displeasure with the suggested modifications on his official Facebook page

“A top-level official of the board who is involved with our cricket called me and told me that you will go to World Cup and we have to make you play by managing [your fitness],” Tamim added.

“‘Do one thing, you don’t play the first game against Afghanistan,’ he said. ” I inform him that there are still 10 to 12 days left and that I will be in good shape in 12-13 days. So why should I not play? Then he said, ‘If you play, we are intending to send you down the order.’

“You have to understand where I’m coming from. After a time (against New Zealand), I had a solid innings and please with it. But these kinds of comments were no longer acceptable to him,” he explained.

“I’ve been playing the same position for 17 years and I’ve never batted at three or four. ” If Im batting at three or four and my batting position later shift up and down, it could be correct. However, I have no expertise batting at the three and four positions. I know I didn’t take it well. I was feeling like I was being forced in a lot of areas willingly, like if everything was going fine, so let’s try something new [to upset him]. That’s exactly how I felt.

Tamim Iqbal, clearly disturb by the abrupt change, made a loud statement

Claiming that he did not want to be a part of what he called BCB’s “dirty game. ” He stress his aversion to being force into a circumstance that did not correspond to his long-establish playing style and preferences.

“At that point, I told you that if you’re thinking this way. Don’t send me because I don’t want to be a part of this dirty game. ” Later, I had a lot of conversations with him that I don’t want to share on this platform because I want it to be between the two of us. “However, I told him that if these things happen. Tamim stated that the physio’s report acknowledged his occasional soreness but did not limit his eligibility for the event.

He is available for selection for the game on the 26th but medical department believe if I take rest we will travel on the 27th… We have a practice game on the 28th [29th] and another one on the 1st or 2nd, depending on whether I play the second practice game. “If I rest now and play the second practice game. I’ll have enough rest and will be in good shape to play the first game after a 10-week rehab,” he stated.
