Former India cricketer Abhishek Nayar has praised budding star Shubman Gill’s approach against Australia in the present three-match One-Day International series. Gill hit 74 runs off 63 balls in India’s first ODI in Mohali, which India won by five wickets.
Gill’s adaptability, according to Nayar, makes him the next big thing in world cricket. He called the kid batter “terrific” and said his manner of play demonstrates a lot of maturity. Furthermore, he emphasized his ability to shift gears as needed.
“He didn’t get the pace he wanted against the pacers, so he started using his feet, which is why Shubman Gill is touted as the next big thing, is because he can have these versatile games with him.” He can raise the stakes whenever he wants, and he can take his time. “He is just fantastic, and he demonstrates a lot of maturity,” Nayar said on Jio Cinema.

India posts 399/5 in second ODI against Australia
On September 24, the second One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia began at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Australia won the toss and invited India to bat first. India got off to the worst possible start, when opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed for eight runs.
However, Shubman Gill and no. 3 hitter Shreyas Iyer led India’s innings with a 150-plus run second-wicket stand. Gill got 97 points on 104 balls, with six boundaries and four maximums. Meanwhile, Shreyas scored 105 runs off 90 balls, including 11 fours and three sixes.
KL Rahul, the stand-in captain, and Ishan Kishan both contributed significantly to the team, hitting 52 and 31 runs, respectively. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav’s magnificent effort enabled India to set a massive 400-run goal for the visitors. He hit an undefeated 72 off 37 deliveries, including six boundaries and six sixes.
Cameron Green took two wickets for Australia, while Josh Hazlewood, Sean Abbott, and Adam Zampa each took one.
