Suryakumar Yadav picked ahead of Sanju Samson in the Indian squad
Suryakumar, who has two fifties to his record, Scored 537 runs in 25 ODI innings at an average of 24.40 and a strike rate of 99.81. The team management decided to go with the swashbuckling hitter over Sanju Samson, who has put up impressive statistics in his brief ODI career.
The 28-year-old has 390 runs scored in 12 innings pitched at a strike rate of 104 and an average of 55.71. However, due to his T20I achievements, the team management placed more trust in Suryakumar than Samson. The Mumbai-born batsman would be eager to prove his selection for the ODI series against Australia.
