Cheteshwar Pujara suspend from playing in one County Championship match. Pujara and Sussex have accepted the sanctions without challenging it.
Sussex has been docked 12 points in the current County Championship for receiving four fixed penalties in one season. Cheteshwar Pujara, the club’s captain, also suspended for a match under the ECB’s Professional Conduct Regulations.

According to Professional Conduct Regulations
This is a distinct offense for the team, and Regulation 4.29 says that the automatic penalty for such an offense is a 12-point deduction.
“By virtue of receiving two additional fixed penalties in the County Championship match against Leicestershire on 13 September 2023. Sussex CCC has now met the threshold of four fix penalties in one season. Having previously receive two fix penalties in the Championship earlier in the season. ” The ECB said in a statement.
“Regulation 4.30 of the Professional Conduct Regulations states that where the same individual captain the team in all of the matches in which the fixed penalties were received. It shall be a separate offence for the captain, and that the captain will receive an automatic suspension of one match from that competition. ” The statement added.
Moreover, Pujara and Sussex accept the sanctions without protest. The actions that resulted in the suspension involve Haines, Jack Carson. Ari Karvelas, none of whom have been also select for Sussex’s upcoming match against Derbyshire, which begins on September 19.
