Asia Cup 2023: Complete schedule of India. In the first match of their Asia Cup 2023 campaign, Team India will face Pakistan.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) published the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023 schedule on Wednesday, July 19. The tournament will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with the first match scheduled for August 30 and the final on September 17.
According to the ACC’s schedule, Pakistan and Nepal will face off in the opening match on August 30 at Multan, Pakistan. Team India will open their Asia Cup campaign against archrivals Pakistan in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue face Nepal in their final group stage encounter on September 2 at Kandy, Sri Lanka.
After much consideration and discussion among the boards of the participating teams, the ACC decided on a hybrid approach in which Pakistan and Sri Lanka will jointly host the event. This arose after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) clashed over the event’s hosting rights.

While the BCCI stated unequivocally that no games would be played in Pakistan
the PCB was determined to guarantee that at least a portion of the event was played at home. India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are among the six nations competing in the competition.
Team India is in Group A with Pakistan and Nepal, while the winners of the Asia Cup 2022, Sri Lanka, is in Group B with Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The event will be contested in the 50-overs format, which is effectively a warm-up for the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be held in India between October and November.
The top two teams from Group A and Group B will advance to the Super Four stage. After competing in the Super Four Stage, the top two teams will advance to the event’s final, which will be held on Sunday, September 17.
