To spark a heated argument, Naved-Ul-Hasan contrasts the batting of Virat Kohli with Babar Azam. In a recent interview, former Pakistani spinner Naved-ul-Hasan discussed Virat Kohli and Babar Azam’s batting approaches.
There has been much discussion about who is the more prolific hitter between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. While the Indian batter debuted in international cricket in 2008, Pakistan’s captain and batter has been playing since 2015.
Both guys have been key batters for their respective countries. For many years, they have carried the weight of cricket-crazed fans’ expectations on their capable shoulders. There is a lot of banter between fans from both countries, and every now and then, a statement from a former cricketer about the two players adds to the debate.
Former Pakistani bowler Naved-ul-Hasan has lately given his thoughts on the two hitters. Azam, according to the 45-year-old, is the more ‘technically sound’ player, while Kohli has a greater repertoire of shots.
“Whenever we compare Babar Azam to Virat Kohli, I always say that Babar is more technically sound than him, which is why he has few failures.” Kohli battled for a year or year and a half recently because he is a bottom-handed player, and when these players fail, it lasts longer,” Naved stated on the Nadir Ali Podcast.
“Babar is technically stronger, but Kohli has more shots.” Babar, on the other hand, makes good use of his limited shots. “Kohli has more shots than Babar because the pitches in India are excellent for batting, and he plays in the IPL against world-class bowlers,” he explained.

If I was in my former rhythm, I could easily get Kohli out of the two: Naved-ul-Hasan
Naved-ul-Hasan appeared in 87 matches for Pakistan across three formats, taking 133 wickets. During the interview, he unleashed a surprise by saying that in his heyday, he would have ‘easily’ dismissed Kohli.
“If I was in my old rhythm, I could easily get Kohli out between the two.” “I had a good outswing, so I would have caught him at slips or by the wicketkeeper,” he concluded.
Kohli is now in the Caribbean, where India is competing in a multi-format series against the West Indies. Azam, on the other hand, is now playing for Pakistan against Dimuth Karunaratne’s men in a two-match Test series.
