Yashasvi Jaiswal will make her Test debut, and Rohit Sharma has revealed his new opening partner. With Rohit and Jaiswal starting the batting order, Shubman Gill will bat at No. 3.
Rohit Sharma, the captain, announced that teenager Yashasvi Jaiswal will be in the starting lineup as the Indian team prepares for their upcoming game against the West Indies. Jaiswal earned his India call-up after an outstanding domestic campaign and a standout performance in the Indian Premier League. He was selected for the Caribbean tour’s Test and T20I squads.

Jaiswal was given a chance because he is anxious to wear the whites when the two teams face off in the first Test of the two-match series on Wednesday at Windsor Park in Dominica. The Indian skipper made it known that he will have a new starting partner before the game.
The team’s skipper and 21-year-old Jaiswal will open India’s batting, while Shubman Gill. Who had been playing outstandingly as an opener, will move up to the No. 3 position that became open following Cheteshwar Pujara’s absence. Since India’s middle-order batters Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are set, Gill offered to fill a different position in the top order.
“Gill will play at position three because he desires to do so. He brought up the fact that I played all of my cricket at ages 3 and 4 with Rahul (Dravid). If I bat third for my team, I believe I can do better. Furthermore, it benefits us since it creates a left-right opening combination, according to Rohit, who was quoted by the ICC.
“So I believe we will make an effort to do this, and I hope that it succeeds. mostly because we have been trying to find a left-hander for a long time. So let’s hope he does well for the squad now that we have that left-hander. And he may truly claim that space as his own, he said.
The team combination will contain two spinners, although Rohit did not specify who they are. Due to the presence of three spinners in the team, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are more likely to start than Axar Patel.
