The Delhi Capitals (DC) opened their account in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Thursday. April 20, with a four-wicket triumph over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Despite their back-to-back losses, David Warner has been DC’s constant performance in the ongoing IPL. Notably, the DC skipper scored another fifty to lead the side from the front in the match against KKR.
When asked about the criticism he has received for his low strike rate. Warner remarked that there will be plenty of people who think he hasn’t been batting as he usually does. He also added that if he had gotten out, they would have chastised him, but that’s just the way the game is.
“It wasn’t three wickets in a row for us. ” There will be many naysayers who will claim that I haven’t been hitting as I generally do. But what can you do when you lose three wickets in two overs and I faced three balls? You have no genuine options. You must have a sense of duty. Like a miniature Bangalore. People would have criticized me if I got out, but that’s just the game, that’s how it is. ” Warner remarked at the post-match news conference, as reported by Cricbuzz.

I felt like I’d regained my rhythm: Warner
Warner went on to explain that the most important thing for the squad is to believe in themselves and come out and perform to the best of their abilities. The 36-year-old also added that he believed he had found his rhythm and had a pleasant net session. He said that he was a little cautious in the first couple of games, losing a lot of wickets, but now he believes that simply going out there and playing the way he usually does will be beneficial to the team.
“It’s about believing in yourself and coming out and executing your skills for us.” Today, I felt like my matchups were there, so I’ll go for the powerplay. We also didn’t lose wickets in bunches in the opening two overs. As a result, that too plays a significant influence. But I felt like I was back in my groove after a few of excellent net sessions. I was definitely a little tentative in the first couple of games, losing a lot of wickets, but for me, it’s about going out there and just playing the way I do and the way I know, and then it’ll be better off for us and the team,” he added.
