In the middle of the ongoing dispute between the BCCI and the PCB over the former’s participation in next year’s Asia Cup in Pakistan, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar disclosed the government’s tough stance on cross-border terrorism. Jaishankar supported the BCCI’s decision not to allow Indian players to go to the neighboring country for next year’s regional championship, dismissing India-Pakistan cricket relations.

After BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirm that Indian players will not be coming to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.
The PCB threatened to withdraw out of next year’s 50-over World Cup in India. Shah, who is also the current ACC president. Advocated moving next year’s continental championship to a neutral location to ensure India’s participation.
With an unequivocal remark, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar clearly established the Indian government’s stance in the midst of the current dispute between the two cricketing boards. He maintained that India will not participate in any event held by Pakistan till the neighbors begin eradicating the terror risks harbored in the nation.
