IND versus SA: MPCA President accuses IMC officials. They are requesting free tickets for the third T20I following a raid on the cricket association. The third and final T20I between India and South Africa is scheduled for Tuesday in Indore. On Tuesday, October 4, India and South Africa will face off in the third T20 International. They will fight at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. However, few hours before the final game, the Indore Municipal Corporation allegedly invaded the MP Cricket Association. They are allegedly pressuring the organizers for free passes.
According to reports, IMC agents led by Additional Commissioner Lata Agarwal invaded the MPCA headquarters and sought municipal taxes. Meanwhile, the MPCA has accused the IMC of taking this action. The cricket organization has plainly refused to grant more free tickets to officials.
MPCA President filled with horror at the timing of the raid
“I’m aghast at the timing of the raid. I am told all this was done to get passes for a junior IAS officer posted in the Indore Municipal Corporation. We decided to settle their tax demand ahead of the due date because we did not want anything to come in the way of organizing the match. The reputation of the state and country is at stake whenever there is an international match.”
MPCA President Abhilash Khandekar expressed his statement at India Today.
“The additional commissioner Lata Agarwal kept repeating that the IMC Commissioner had sent her,” said Khandekar. There was a demand for additional passes from an IAS officer posted in the municipal corporation which was not entertained, which led to the situation. “How many passes can we keep doling out? This freebie culture has to end.”
MPCA President Abhilash Khandekar added.
The municipal corporation authorities visited the cricket association. They said that they had yet to pay the INR 32 lakh property tax on the cricket facility.
Returning to the game, India will be gearing up for their last preparations for the T20 World Cup. They are hoping that their bowling, particularly in the death overs, performs well in this encounter.
