Reeza Hendricks discusses competition within the South African team. ‘I’m glad I got the chance and put in two good performances,’ Hendricks said.
South African batter Reeza Hendricks stated that the Proteas are a very competitive team and express gratitude for the opportunities afford to him. The three-match T20I series between the two rivals is now tied at 1-1. After England won the first match by 41 runs and South Africa won the second game by 58 runs. The teams will face off in the series finale on Sunday at Southampton’s Rose Bowl. With one of them going on to win the bilateral trophy.
In the two T20Is, Hendricks, who is in great form, score 57 off 33 and 53 off 32 for South Africa. Hendricks stated that he will continue to take chances despite some batters being in excellent form. Vying for spots in the lineup for the T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by Australia in October.
“It’s obviously nice to be able to contribute. There is a lot of competition within the team right now, which is also a good thing. So I’m glad I got the chance and put in two good performances,” Hendricks quoted as saying by India Today.
“I’m not sure where that leaves me, but whatever opportunity I get, I’ll do my best. ” “Whatever happens from there in terms of selection and where it places me, it’s up to the team, the coaches, and the selectors to see where they see me fitting,” he added.
