Sourav Ganguly, BCCI President, spoke about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s current form in the IPL and expressed confidence that the two will return soon. Both are key players and the backbone of the Indian team, but their struggles in the IPL 2022 have been concerning.
India will compete in the T20 World Cup later this year in Australia, following a disappointing performance at the event last year, and everyone is hoping for a strong comeback. However, Kohli and Rohit have not been successful for their respective IPL franchises in recent games, and their performance has been a source of concern.

“I’m not concerned about Rohit or Virat’s form. They’re too good…true big players. “The World Cup is a long way away, but I am confident that they will be in peak condition well before the tournament,” Ganguly told Mid-Day.
Kohli has 236 runs at 19.67 with a strike rate of 113.46 in 13 games this season. He has only one half-century and three golden duck dismissals to his name. Except for the first season of the IPL, Kohli’s numbers have never been so low. His decision to resign as captain to lighten the load was also unsuccessful.
In contrast, Rohit Sharma has 218 runs in 12 games at an average of 18.17 and a strike rate of 125.29. The Indian all-format captain has yet to score a half-century this season and has only managed five single-digit scores with one duck. The five-time champion captain was unable to lead the team to a successful season this time, and as a result, they were the first to be eliminated from the race.
