IPL 2022: Murugan Ashwin of the Mumbai Indians believes that spinners “can do a lot” on the Mumbai pitch.
Murugan Ashwin, who picked up two wickets on his MI debut, believes that wrist spinners like him and Delhi Capitals’ Kuldeep Yadav might be a force to be reckoned with on the Mumbai pitch. Kuldeep scored 3/18, while Murugan Ashwin thought they were both doing the same thing on the field.
“Both Kuldeep and I had a strong game, and as wrist spinners, we can do a lot off the wicket with our variations. Both of us bowled the correct lengths and speeds; it’s a fantastic pitch to bat on, and the lines were crucial; we needed to be precise to put the batsmen on the backfoot and compel them to do something “In a post-match press conference, Murugan Ashwin remarked.
With a 178-run mark to chase, Delhi got off to a shaky start, losing three wickets in the first six overs. Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma chose Murugan Ashwin after the bowler dismissed Tim Seifert for 21 and Mandeep Singh in his first over. Murugan, though, acknowledged that the Mumbai Indians’ return to winning form would require only minor tweaks.

“As a bowling unit, we were looking magnificent out there.” There are a few things that must be attended to, such as shutting the overs. We gave up a few more boundary balls than we’d want, but we’ll recover and come back stronger.
We didn’t give in to the strain because we have seasoned bowlers; it’s simply a matter of finishing games. “We’ll be back,” the 31-year-old leg-spinner declared.
He also praised Ishan Kishan for a strong inning. “Ishan was excellent; he stayed with it until the end; it was a solid, responsible innings from him.” “I’m thrilled for him because he was hitting well in the nets and practice games,” Murugan remarked.
