Former India cricketer Pragyan Ojha offered a unique perspective on India skipper Virat Kohli’s dismissal, which was one of the most talked-about moments of the second Test between India and New Zealand in Mumbai on Day 1.
Kohli gave LBW by the on-field umpire, and the third umpire decides not to reverse the judgment after finding “no solid evidence.”
The cricketing community was split over the incident. Many believed Kohli hit the ball before it reached his pads, but some, like Simon Doull, believed the third umpire followed the “correct method.”
Ojha, on the other hand, had a different perspective on the events. The former India left-arm spinner, referring to third umpire Virender Sharma, wrote: “#VirenderSharma bhool gaye ki duniya main sirf ek #virendersehwag…. Who’s boldness we love! #ViratKohli #IndvsNZtest,” on his Koo handle.

It all happened in the Indian innings’ 30th over when Ajaz Patel foxed Kohli with a straighter one. Because he’s fast to raise his finger, umpire Anil Chaudhary had no doubts that it pad first.
The star batsman, who returned to head the side after stepping down as T20I captain. And taking a rest, requested a review of the LBW decision.
Virender Sharma, the TV umpire, reviewed multiple replays, some of which suggested the ball may have struck the bat first.
He was heard saying:
“The ball, bat, and pad appear to be in the same place. I don’t have any compelling evidence to the contrary.”
