The majority of the Indian squad will fly to New York before the IPL 2024 finals. Only those who advance to the IPL final will remain, departing for New York on May 27.
The majority of the Indian Cricket Team players and their large support crew are schedule to fly to New York on May 25, with a few joining them after the IPL final on May 26. Originally, those from teams that did not make the IPL playoffs were schedule to fly out on May 21, following the final league match on May 19. However, plans have changed, and the first group will depart on May 25.
Only those who advance to the IPL final will remain, departing for New York on May 27. This allows them to recover from jet lag and engage in some solid practice sessions before the warm-up match versus Bangladesh. Rajasthan Royals players such as Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Yuzvendra Chahal are among the top two in the IPL 2024 rankings. India’s first match in the T20 World Cup will be against Ireland on June 5, followed by the major one against Pakistan on June 9.
“Some of the players and support staff who are schedule to leave on May 25 include skipper Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel. The departure date for the first batch was previously set for May 21. But because India will only play one warm-up game (vs Bangladesh on June 1), the players will be able to spend some extra days at home, according to a BCCI source quoted by Indian Today.
