Pat Cummins recalls World Cup victory in Ahmedabad during GT vs SRH clash. “It was a packed stadium the last time I played here, and I’m glad to be back,” Cummins said.
Match 12 of the Indian Premier League 2024 pitted Gujarat Titans (GT) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pat Cummins, who is leading SRH in the ongoing IPL 2024, experienced déjà vu as he entered the world’s largest stadium. On November 19, 2023, he successfully led Australia to a World Cup title, defeating hosts India in front of a packed stadium in Ahmedabad.
“We are going to bat first. It looks like a good wicket, and it’s very warm. So I’m happy to bat first. Yeah, I have wonderful memories here. The last time I played here, it was a packed stadium, and it’s great to be back. It’s about the freedom. We know what we’re capable of, so we’re going to try it and see how it goes today. “We’re going with the same team,” Cummins said during the toss.

Gujarat beat SRH by seven wickets at home
SRH got off to a great start after winning the toss, with Travis Head continuing his form. However, they faltered badly after losing their openers, scoring only 168 runs and collapsing in the middle order.
In exchange, GT appeared unconcerned about the pursuit because they had simplified their lives by converting one’s into twos in the middle. They eventually reached the goal with seven wickets remaining, thanks to 45 and 44 from Sai Sudharsan and David Miller, respectively.
