Star Australian hitter David Warner announced his retirement from T20Is on Tuesday, February 13, following the T20 World Cup 2024. Which will be held in the West Indies and the United States beginning June 1. Notably, Warner declared his retirement from Tests and ODIs earlier this yea. He decided to wave farewell to the shortest format after the third T20I against West Indies in Perth.
The Australian opener was the hosts’ lone warrior in the third T20I, smashing 81 off 49 balls. It wasn’t enough to help his team chase down 221. The 37-year-old also name Player of the Series after scoring the most runs in the three-match series (173 from three innings).

David Warner is the second-highest run scorer for Australia in T20Is.
Earlier, in the first T20I, he scored 70 (36) with 12 fours and a six as Australia won by 11 runs. During the series opener, the southpaw became only the third hitter in history to play 100 games in all three forms.
Warner is Australia’s second-highest run scorer in T20Is. With 3067 runs from 102 innings at an average of 33.70 and a strike rate of 142.51, including a hundred and 26 fifties. He is only 53 runs away from overtaking Aaron Finch’s 3120-run total and becoming Australia’s most prolific batter in the shortest format of international cricket.
Notably, Warner name Player of the Tournament in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Placing second in run scoring with 289 from seven innings. He will be aiming to finish his career on a high note, helping Australia win their second title in the format.
