Hafeez opens up on resting Shaheen in 3rd Test. During the Sydney Test, Shaheen revealed that the decision to sit him for the last game of the series was decided by team management.
For the third and final Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Pakistan rested Shaheen Shah Afridi. Instead of the ace fast, the visitors sent in off-spinner Sajid Khan. The 23-year-old captured eight wickets at an outstanding economy rate of 3.35 in two matches in Perth and Melbourne.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s men’s team director and head coach, Mohammed Hafeez, said Shaheen given a vacation to “manage his workload. ” During the Sydney Test, Shaheen also revealed that the decision to sit him for the last game of the series decided by team management.
“We made the decision to rest Shaheen and manage his workload because we did not want his body to suffer.” He has worked hard in the year since his return from injury, and the pressure on him has been immense. “We wanted to give him a break and manage his workload,” Hafeez told India Today.
“I don’t know what’s happened previously, but at this time. I wanted to make sure that no bowler’s career is spoil due to their workload not being manage. ” He said.

Pakistan suffer 3-0 defeat in Australia tour
Pakistan suffered their 17th consecutive Test match defeat on Australian territory. As they were defeat by eight wickets in the third and final Test of the three-match series 0-3. Pakistan batted first in the third Test after winning the toss and scored 313 runs in the first innings. Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha had two half-centuries, and Australia’s Pat Cummins had a fifer.
Pakistan bundled out Australia for 299 in the second innings, thanks to Aamir Jamal’s six-wicket haul. Following that, Pakistan fought hard and set a target of 130 runs. The hosts were then driven to victory by half-centuries from David Warner (57) and Marnus Labuschagne (62*).
