Adelaide Strikers revealed their top player would miss the upcoming BBL season due to a back injury that may require minor surgery
Strikers confirmed in a statement that the 25-year-old has “withdrawn from the upcoming BBL 13 due to a back injury that requires a minor operation.”
“Rashid is a beloved Strikers player and fan favorite who has been with us for seven years. He will be greatly miss this summer. ” “Rashid loves Adelaide and the Strikers, and we know how much he loves playing in the BBL. We support him as he receives treatment for this injury to ensure his long-term participation in the game. ” Strikers General Manager of Cricket Tim Nielsen cited as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
The Nangarhar native made his BBL debut in December 2017 and has since taken 98 wickets at an average of 17.51 and an economy of 6.44 in 69 matches. Nielsen stated that they have yet to decide on Rashid’s replacement for the following season, but they would consider potential candidates in the future. He also claim that Rashid will be retained by the Strikers for the following seasons.
