On Wednesday, August 7, a fire broke out in the Eden Gardens’ dressing room in Kolkata. The event occurred late at night, amid the stadium’s renovations in preparation for the ODI World Cup 2023.
The fire was swiftly brought under control after the workers notified the fire brigade, putting an end to the issue. Several sources stated that the fire started in the dressing room’s fake ceiling and that all of the players’ things were destroyed.

The abrupt fire was caused by a sauna heater, which discover. The refurbishment of Eden Gardens is slated to be complete on September 15. ICC personnel expected to arrive soon for a review, the fire could cause some issues.
While the review was ongoing, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehasish Ganguly state that no damage was done to the stadium’s dressing room. He went on to say that the two fire tenders were quick to respond and that only a few cables were burn.
