Sarfaraz Ahmed: I have no ill will toward Mohammad Rizwan. Pakistan captain Babar Azam currently has a nice headache because the squad boasts two strong wicketkeeper-batters in Mohammad Rizwan and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
After Sarfaraz Ahmed was dropped, Mohammad Rizwan took over as Pakistan’s wicketkeeper. Rizwan, 31, has shown his class in all three formats of the game, particularly in T20Is, where he averages 49.07 and has 25 fifties and a solitary century.
Sarfaraz, on the other hand, worked hard, grew fitter, and returned to the squad for the Test series against New Zealand in December 2022-January 2023. The ICC Champions Trophy-winning captain made an incredible comeback, winning the Player of the Series award for scoring the most runs.
There has recently been much discussion about who should be the ‘Men in Green’ first-choice gloveman. When asked about his connection with Rizwan, Sarfaraz clarified that there is no hatred between the two and chastise social media users who try to cause rifts. The 36-year-old also commended Pakistan’s squad cohesiveness.
“The current Pakistan team is extremely well-coordinated. Cricket Pakistan cited Sarfaraz as saying, “All the players share a brotherly bond and there is no hatred between us.”
“I have no ill will toward Rizwan. The hatred is limit to those who use social media. These folks have nothing to do with their lives, so they go on social media and start spouting nonsense.”
Interestingly, Sarfaraz began ahead of Rizwan in Pakistan’s 2-0 series victory over Sri Lanka.

“Just leave Babar Azam’ – Sarfaraz Ahmed Virat-Babars comparison
Sarfaraz avoided the Babar Azam vs. Virat Kohli discussion, believing that the Pakistan skipper should be allow to enjoy himself. Sarfaraz pointed out that Babar began his career considerably later than Virat and that comparing the two players at this point would be unfair. He did, however, add that nobody plays the cover drive and on drive like Babar.
“Just leave Babar Azam alone.” He and Virat are in no way comparable. Virat has been a cricketer for almost 14-15 years. In 2015, Babar made his debut. Wait until Babar has played as much cricket as Virat and he will be at the same stage. Nobody plays cover drive and on drive like Babar. “Let him play and have fun,” Sarfaraz replied.
