“The truth is that bowling to Davey has always been difficult for me, and it still is. “By going round the wicket, I’ve tried to reduce the width he loves outside off stump while also bowling a fuller length and forcing him to play on 80 to 85 percent of deliveries,” Broad said in his Daily Mail column.
“He used to sit back against me and hit me through the off side, and before the 2015 Ashes, our bowling coach Ottis Gibson pointed out that my average was much higher against left-handers, and the Aussie team that season was full of lefties, and Ottis said I’d be out of the team if I didn’t find a way to bowl to them,” he explained.
England staged a stunning recovery in the Ashes 2023 after losing the first two Tests of the showpiece series, as the Ben Stokes-led squad demonstrated their worth with a great triumph at Headingley. With the fourth Test due to begin on July 19 at Old Trafford, England will be looking for another victory to tie the series.
