Travis Head unbothered by English sledging ahead of 2nd Ashes. English players sledging opened up his head in the first Ashes Test.
The Pat Cummins-led Australia had a fantastic start to the Ashes 2023. After a grueling five-day struggle against England, the Aussies managed to chase down the mark on Day 5 thanks to Pat Cummins’ heroics with the bat, leading the side to an emphatic two-wicket triumph.
Despite the thrilling victory, one of the game’s greatest talking points was a verbal spat between English pacer Ollie Robinson and Australian starter Usman Khawaja. After dismissing Khawaja in the first innings, Robinson slammed him, and Khawaja responded on Day 5.
However, before of the second Test, Australian batter Travis Head stated that the team is not concerned about England’s sledging. Instead of sledging, Head believes Australia is focused on making it two wins in a row.
“We’re only going to Lord’s for lunch, apparently, yeah, they (England) have this mantra they’re going at.” They’re having some great off-field banter, but this team is truly concerned with what we need to do to win the second Test, go 2-0 up, and put some pressure on them,” Head told 9News Sydney.

Furthermore, Head stated that he appreciates such cheerful sledging battles. That because it did not go Robinson’s way in the first Test. The English pacer will try to take it up in the second Test, which is set to begin soon.
“I enjoy it a lot. I said a few calm, happy things to him out there. It’s all good fun, and we’ll see where the next four Tests take us. It didn’t go his way in the previous one, but he’s a fierce competitor who will want to prove himself. But if he doesn’t, I believe they have a few individuals at home who might want to get under his skin,” Head continued.
