It was Virat Kohli who had the fans on their feet in the second over with a brilliant throw that ended Cameron Green’s innings early in the contest.
Green, who hit a 30-ball 61 in the last match, struck the ball towards mid-on and hurried for a single. However, Kohli was fast to the ball and delivered it with tremendous speed and precision to Axar Patel at the non-end. After losing the first match, India went on to defeat Australia by six wickets to tie the three-match series.
Australia scored 90/5 after being called in to bat by Rohit Sharma. Aaron Finch got Australia off to a strong start with a 15-ball 31, but India responded with a spate of wickets. Finch’s tenure at the crease was terminated by Jasprit Bumrah’s superb low full toss that clattered into the stumps.
But Matthew Wade then slammed 43 off 20 deliveries to continue his current form. While also helping Australia reach a decent score.
However, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul got India off to a flying start in the chase, and despite Adam Zampa putting a wrench in the works by removing KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav, the India captain ensured they arrived safely with an unbeaten innings of 46 off 20 deliveries.
With the victory, India evened the series at 1-1, and the two sides will now meet in the series finale on Sunday in Hyderabad.
