‘How far will you go to change the game?’ – Aakash Chopra on the launch of 6ixty. Aakash Chopra has questioned the introduction of the Sixty T10 league.
Former India Test opener Aakash Chopra has questioned the introduction of the 6ixty, a brand new T10 concept announced recently by Cricket West Indies (CWI). The 10th edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will take place in August of this year, but it may be overshadowed by the Sixty.
Chopra question the new format, saying he is not convince by the slow overrate and’mystery free hit’ rules, and that bowlers would be unfairly punished if a team failed to bowl their allotted quota of 10 overs within the 45-minute time limit.

T10 has a new twist: Aakash Chopra.
“Test matches used to be timeless; once a team drawn because they would have miss their ship.” Then came ODI cricket, which went from 60 to 50 overs, then T20, and now T10. I mean, how much will you change the game, the 6ixty is coming? T10 with a twist,” Aakash Chopra explained on his YouTube channel.
“It’s very good that if you don’t bowl your 10 overs in 45 minutes, you’ll have to field with one less player in the last over.” Another intriguing feature is the ability to create a’mystery free hit,’ which spectators can select via a website or app. It will appear on the big screen unexpectedly, and the bowler will explain his error,” he added.
The CWI’s new T10 format will feature six men’s and three women’s teams and will be played from August 24 to 28 in St. Kitts and Nevis. The tournament concludes just two days before the start of the CPL 2022. Meanwhile, by deciding to launch the Sixty, Cricket West Indies became the first full-member board to create its own T10 league.
