MS Dhoni’s first meeting with CSK throwdown specialist. CSK throwdown specialist added, “MS Dhoni asked me to play naturally.”
While the list of fans of legendary skipper MS Dhoni is long, CSK throwdown specialist Kondappa Raj Palani has joined the ranks. Palani recently opened up about his first meeting with Dhoni, which took place in the UAE as the teams prepared for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. In the same year (2020), the CSK captain announced his international retirement in August and was preparing to join the Yellow Army.
Palani went on to say that when the camp began, Dhoni had retired and needed some practice in the nets, which is why he (Palani) was called. Palani went on to say that everyone in the nets was only talking about Dhoni’s retirement, and that Stephen Fleming and Hussey advised him to bowl carefully to the Ranchi hero.
“The camp began the first time when Dhoni retired. That was the first time I saw him. He inquired as to whether you were the throwers. He requested that I throw balls at him. After that, the team was pleased. The net bowlers were discussing his retirement. He came to play sidearm after two or three weeks. “Everyone was arriving,” Palani stated on the CSK website.

MS Dhoni requested that I play naturally as a CSK throwdown specialist.
“Fleming, Hussey, and everyone told me that Dhoni was coming and that I needed to bowl carefully.” Both of the first two balls were wide. The following ball was a full toss. Dhoni approached me and said, ‘Stop looking at me and bowl.’ He instructed me to play freely. I then began bowling wherever he desired, and he was overjoyed. “He started addressing me with my name every day since then,” he added.
The 2020 IPL season marked the first time CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs and had a forgettable season. They roared back in style, however, to win the trophy for the fourth time in 2021. However, in the current edition, CSK became the second team to be eliminated from IPL 2022, repeating the same story.
