A century will be enough to erase Virat Kohli’s bad season: Virender Sehwag. Kohli has had a forgettable IPL season, scoring only 309 runs in 14 games.
The IPL 2022 is coming to an end, with playoffs being held to determine the two finalists. In the tournament’s Eliminator, Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore will face KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants. All eyes will be on former RCB captain Virat Kohli, who returned to form in the previous league game against the Gujarat Titans with an unbeaten 73-run knock.
Concerning Kohli’s performance this season, Virender Sehwag has stated that a century will be enough to make up for his poor showings in the IPL 2022 thus far. The former Indian opener also backed Kohli to perform against LSG after he has struggled in recent months.

A century would be a comeback for Kohli, according to Virender Sehwag.
“If Kohli scores a century against LSG, who will say he had a bad season based on his stats?” He’ll finish with 400 runs or more, which is consider a good season. He has a great opportunity to succeed now that his team has advanced to the knockout rounds. Kohli has the ability to perform well and lead the team forward.” CricBuzz spoke with Sehwag.
Kohli has had a forgettable IPL season, scoring 309 runs in 14 matches at an average of 23.77 and a strike rate of 117.94. This season, the 33-year-old has only two half-centuries to his name. Meanwhile, RCB won eight of the fourteen games they played in the IPL 2022, finishing fourth in the league stage. They will face third-placed LSG in the second qualifier, where they will face Rajasthan Royals, who lost to Gujarat Titans by seven wickets in the first qualifier.
In the meantime, former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel commented on the Eliminator match, saying, “They [RCB] qualified in the last two seasons as well.” However, they were losing matches as they approached the qualifiers and only just made it through. They were having a good start but were losing games before the playoffs. As a result, they lacked momentum heading into the playoffs. Things aren’t the same here. They won their most recent match and had previously won a couple of games. They’ve been eliminated in the Eliminator twice before, but they’re hoping to make it this time.”
