IPL 2022: Ravi Shastri believes spinners will struggle to decide how to bowl to Virat Kohli if he adds the sweep shot to his arsenal.
Few people are as familiar with Virat Kohli as a cricketer as Ravi Shastri, with the two forging a close friendship during the latter’s time as Team India’s head coach.
The former India head coach had some advise for Kohli as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season got underway. Kohli was in superb form in RCB’s first match of the season, smashing an unbeaten 41 off 29 deliveries to help the team reach 205/2 against Punjab Kings.
He looked good against both pace and spin, and he used his feet effectively against the latter.
Ravi Shastri, on the other hand, believes that in order to add another dimension to his game, he should start using the sweep shot more regularly and with “flexibility.”

“The thing I enjoyed most about Virat was his fluidity,” Shastri said of Kohli’s performance against Punjab Kings on ESPNcricinfo.
