Alex Carey only managed four runs off four deliveries in the first ODI between Pakistan and Australia before losing his wicket.
Alex Carey struggled with the bat in Australia’s first One-Day International against Pakistan on Tuesday at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Carey managed only four runs off four balls before succumbing to Zahid Mahmood in spectacular fashion. Carey took a full toss in the 40th over and attempted to reverse-sweep it. But failed to connect as the ball flew around his legs and shattered the stumps.
During Australia’s innings, Travis Head was in superb form, scoring 101 runs off only 72 balls. In addition, the opener hit 12 fours and three maximums.
Ben McDermott, meanwhile, was in fine form at the crease, scoring 55 runs off 70 balls, including four fours.

In 50 overs, Australia scored 313 runs, setting Pakistan a target of 314 runs. Cameron Green scored 40 runs off 30 balls to go unbeaten.
Haris Rauf and Mahmood both bowled well for Pakistan, with two wickets each.
Imam-ul-Haq produced a superb century for Pakistan in their pursuit. But it was not enough as Australia won by 88 runs, bowling Pakistan out for 225.
With the ball, Australia’s spinners sparkled. With Adam Zampa taking four wickets and Mitchell Swepson and Travis Head each taking two.
