Shakib Al Hasan, a Bangladesh all-rounder, will depart South Africa on March 24 to be with his sick family members, according to a Bangladesh Cricket Board official (March 23).
Minhajul Abedin, the BCB’s chief selector, confirmed the news; adding that they aren’t ready to rule him out of the forthcoming two-match Test series because he is anticipate; to make the decision after analyzing the health of his sick family members.
‘Yes, he’ll be back tomorrow (March 24),’ Minhajul confirmed. “We are not also ruling him out of the Test series just yet,” he stated, adding that he will make; his decision after monitoring the health of his family members.
Shakib is unlikely to play in the two-match series opener in Durban; but there is a chance he will be available for the second Test, which is set to begin on April 8.

Despite being offer the opportunity to return home by the BCB; Shakib chose to stay and play the important third ODI against South Africa due to a family emergency.

Shirin Reza, Shakib’s mother, has been also hospitalize to a Dhaka hospital with a heart infection. His daughter Errum Hasan was also admit to the hospital with pneumonia; while his son Eyzah Al Hasan was admit with a fever.
