Virat Kohli, the India batter, walked out to bat on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Marking yet another milestone.
Virat Kohli scored 8,000 runs in his 100th Test, the longest format of the game. He joins a select group of Indian batsmen who have scored 8,000 or more runs in Test cricket. Including Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, and VVS Laxman.
Kohli is the fifth-fastest Indian to reach the milestone. Behind Sachin Tendulkar (154 innings), Rahul Dravid (158 innings), Virender Sehwag (160 innings), and Sunil Gavaskar (169 innings) (166 innings).
The 33-year-old, on the other hand, is having a difficult time in Test cricket. Lasith Embuldeniya castled him on 45 in the ongoing first Test.
Kohli hasn’t scored a century in over two years, for the record. He scored his most recent international century against Bangladesh in November of this year.
