One student’s dad told NDTV that the school threatened their daughter with police punishment if she didn’t obey a rule prohibiting kids from wearing hijabs.
Shivamogga, Karnataka: The debate about the ban on hijabs in Karnataka schools raged on Tuesday when it was reveal that students in Udupi and Shivamogga districts were denied permission to write examinations the day before because they were wearing a hijab, or headscarf.Two Karnataka students were arrest for refusing to take exams because of their hijab.
“This (the prohibition of hijabs) has never done before. Our kids were force to sit in different rooms. The teachers yelled at the kids yesterday… They (the school) had never attempt anything like this before “the parent, whose child is in Class 6 at a state-run school in Udupi, explain.

In class, my daughter wore the hijab. She was tell to take it off and go to the daily prayer. She was compel to remove her hijab after cops intimidated her. The parent added.
