CSA four-day franchise series has been postponed and will be reschedule in 2022, the final round of matches of South Africa’s top domestic competition.
The CSA’s acting CEO, Pholetsi Moseki, said that Sunday’s four matches had been postponed as a precautionary measure

Because of an increase in Covid-19 instances in the country in recent weeks.
“Ultimately, we found it difficult to continue with these activities. Because they were playing outside of a bio-secure environment,” he stated.
This is the third set of matches to be moving, following the postponement of Division 2 matchups. Between December 2 and 5, and between December 16 and 19.
Domestic cricket has not been playing in a bio-secure bubble environment so far this season. But knows that this will change for the one-day and T20 tournaments. Both white-ball competitions were held under bio-secure conditions last summer.
The fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic has hit South Africa, following the discovery of the Omicron variant last month.
Cases reached a high of almost 26000 earlier this week, but are slowly declining. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has been on alert Level 1 of 5, with the fewest restrictions.
