Faf du Plessis‘ solid leadership abilities, according to Royal Challengers Bangalore veteran Virat Kohli; were a significant reason they intended to hire him for the 2019 IPL edition. Kohli, who has been with the Royal Challengers since the first edition in 2008; and as full-time captain since 2013, handed over the captaincy after the IPL last year. RCB will now be led by Du Plessis, a four-time IPL winner who was bought for Rs 7 crore; in the big auction last month. “The plan was extremely clear: get Faf at the auctions for us.” In the locker room; we need a strong leader that commands respect. Kohli remarked in a video shared by RCB’s twitter feed; “Commands not demands, since he has been there and done it.” “He’s a Test captain, which also comes with a lot of honors, and we’re looking forward; to him leading RCB.” He’ll do a fantastic job. “All of us, including myself, Maxi (Glenn Maxwell) and also ...

Nortje will play in the IPL 15 starting from the team’s third game, on April 7, when the Capitals face the Lucknow Super Giants at DY Patil Stadium, according to a franchise official. Nortje has already arrive in Mumbai and has been quarantined for a few days. This winter, the pacer did not appear in any of South Africa’s home international series. South Africa is currently playing Bangladesh in a white ball series, after which the two teams will play a two-Test series. The CSA,  on the other hand. Has given its IPL recruits the freedom to choose the lucrative league ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh. The news spread after the Indian High Commission in Harare posted a photo of the High Commissioner handing over Indian travel documents to the pacer, along with the caption: “As he prepared to leave for #IPL2022, Ambassador met with Zimbabwean bowler Blessing Muzarabani. Ambassador wished him and his #LucknowSuperGiants team the best of luck.” Also Read: WWC: Bismah Maroof “Sigh of Relief” ...

Du Preez, who have also station at the midwicket boundary, leapt into the air and dove to the right to catch the dangerous Rachael Haynes, who was eject. Nida Dar and Muneeba Ali help Pakistan end an 18-match losing record in ODI World Cup qualifying matches. After Nida Dar’s career-best 4/10 prompted yet another West Indies collapse; Pakistan ended their 18-match losing streak in Women ODI World Cups; limiting them to a meager 89/7 in a rain-affected contest in Hamilton. After the game was reduced to a 20-overs-a-side contest due to persistent rain; left-arm spinner Anam Amin applied the pressure on a helpful track, and Dar ripped through the West Indies batting; who kept trying to hit their way out of trouble. With a total score of 8-1-16-4, Pakistan only needed 90 points to get their first points. The fact that the surface continued to give turn from ball one offered the West Indies encouragement in their modest 89-run defense. Muneeba Ali, on the other hand, got them rolling with back-to-back boundaries in the third over – a forceful slog sweep followed by a streaky four off an edge. Despite losing Sidra Ameen early in the chase, Pakistan was able to stay up with the asking rate with to the opener’s ability to find the gaps. Her top-scoring effort of 37 off 43 didn’t come without risk, but it provided the club with a good foundation. She was out in the 13th over after picking up a brace when West Indies bungled twice off the same delivery, first with a catch at cover and then with an unnecessary overthrow. With Pakistan needing 37 off 45 balls, Bismah Maroof and Omaima Sohail joined together and ran superbly between the wickets to finish with seven deliveries and eight wickets to spare, securing their first World Cup victory in 13 years. see ...

Smith and Khawaja save Australia, after an early setback.  After Shaheen Afridi had wounded the visitors early with the new ball; Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja saved Australia with a century stand on the first day of the last Test. Smith and Khawaja both made half-centuries in the process, guiding the team to a total of 145/2 at Tea. After winning the toss, Australia decided to bat first on a pitch that was projected to aid turn later; in the game. They were shattered early on against the new ball, with Shaheen dismissing David Warner; and Marnus Labuschagne in the space of three deliveries. Warner was caught leg-before-wicket for the first time, and Labuschagne pushed his second delivery behind. Smith and Khawaja then teamed up to stop the slide and ensure no more damage occurred; until the lunch break, but the real difficulty was to keep going in the same direction after that. While they were able to rotate the strike frequently after the break, Khawaja’s first boundary came after six overs; when he drove Shaheen clear of cover. Khawaja got back into the act in the next over; punching one past the cover region to climb into the 40s. see also: On Day 1 of the Lahore Test, a roving ‘Buggy cam’ disturbs Steve Smith’s steely concentration. ...

Pakistan, who have lost all four of their matches and are currently rank last in the eight-team standings,  lost opener Sidra Ameen (8) in the sixth over with the score at 22. But Maroof (20 not out) played conservatively. Taking no risks, and stitched an unbeaten 33 runs for the third wicket with Sohail’s (22 not out) company to romp home with seven balls to spare. While the win will boost Pakistan’s morale ahead of their final two league games. The defeat will jeopardize the West Indies’ chances of reaching the semifinals. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre. Of which is a 22-yard (20-metre) pitch with a wicket at each end. Each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The game proceeds when a player on the fielding team, called the bowler, “bowls” (propels). The ball from one end of the pitch towards the wicket at the other end.

The batting side’s players score runs by striking the bowled ball with a bat and running between the wickets. While the bowling side tries to prevent this by keeping the ball within the field and getting it to either wicket and dismiss each batter (so they are “out”).

Means of dismissal include being bowled when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails. And by the fielding side either catching a hit ball before it touches the ground or hitting a wicket with the ball. Before a batter can cross the crease line in front of the wicket to complete a run. When ten batters have been dismissed, the innings end, and the teams swap roles.

The game is adjudicated by two umpires, aided by a third umpire and match referee in international matches.

Forms of cricket range from Twenty20, with each team batting for a single innings of 20 overs and the game generally lasting three hours.

To Test matches played over five days. Traditionally cricketers play in an all-white kit. But in limited-overs cricket, they wear club or team colours. In addition to the basic kit, some players wear protective gear to prevent injury caused by the ball, which is a hard, solid spheroid made of compressed leather with a slightly raised sewn seam enclosing a cork core layered with tightly wound string.
