Retentions For PSL 2022: Fakhar Zaman has been released from the Lahore Qalandars’ squad for the PSL 2022 season, but it is expected that he will be re-drafted as a platinum player on Sunday’s draft day.
They’ve kept premier fast bowler Haris Rauf on board as a brand ambassador, but he’s been demoted from the Platinum to the Diamond category.
Qalandars and Zalmi, on the other hand, are expected to re-sign them during the draft on Sunday.
RETENTIONS FOR PSL 2022
KARACHI KINGS
Except for the Multan Sultans and the Quetta Gladiators, all four teams have used up their eight-player retention allotment. The Karachi Kings have appointed Babar Azam as their captain for the season, but have kept ex-captain Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir, whose category has been renamed Diamond this season.
QUETTA GLADIATORS
Hasan Ali, who joined Islamabad United last season, will remain with the team, while Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Shahab Khan, and Alex Hales are among the key players who have been retained by the two-time PSL champions. They have, however, traded Iftikhar Ahmed to Gladiators in exchange for Azam Khan.
United will select one player from each of the Platinum and Diamond categories. As well as four players from the Silver category, in the draft. They also have room to select two young players.
LAHORE QALANDARS
Ben Dunk, Samit Patel, Dilbar Hussain, Agha Salman, Joe Denly, and Tom Abell have all been released by the Qalandars. They now have room for three Gold picks. Two Silver picks, two developing picks, and one Platinum and Diamond pick each.

ISLAMABAD UNITED
Gladiators have maintained their faith in Sarfaraz Ahmed, who will remain in charge of the team. Chris Gayle, Faf du Plessis, Tom Banton, Ben Cutting, Usman Shinwari, Cameron Delport, and Dale Steyn have all been discharged, however, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Hasnain. And Naseem Shah has remained in the squad.
MULTAN SULTANS
Right-to-match cards have been introduced for the first time in the PSL. Allowing PSL franchises to buy back a maximum of one player they released. At the draft by paid the respective fee against each category – Platinum (PKR 2.8 million), Diamond (PKR 1.75 million). Gold (PKR 1.4 million), Silver (PKR 0.8 million), Emerging (PKR 0.8 million), and Emerging (PKR 0.8 million) (PKR 0.45 million).
In the supplementary round, each club is entitled to select two additional players. The franchises also have the option to use one wildcard choice.
PESHAWAR ZALMI
Each of the six organizations is allowed to keep up to eight players. From their previous squad while drafting another eight. The initial roster does not include players that were named. As substitutes for the PSL’s Abu Dhabi leg earlier this year.
