After making a Test century on his international debut in 2018, the Mumbai batsman expect to continue to improve. However, he has only played five Tests, six ODIs, and one T20I so far. It has been more than two years since his previous appearance for India.

In the similar spirit, Prithvi Shaw recently opened out about the incident, stating that he was dining with his buddies next to Gill’s table at the Barrel Club in Mumbai. The right-handed batter stated that the latter’s group requested selfies, and he agreed. He went on to explain that a few minutes later, a couple began filming a video without his permission. This is when the manager request Gill and his colleagues to leave. However, when Shaw and his buddies exited the club, they noticed a young woman waiting with a baseball bat.
“I was at the Barrel Club inside the Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai with 7-8 pals. 4-5 people seated on the adjoining table approached me for selfies, and I consented. But they came back because the photographs they took were blurry, so I took another selfie. Then a couple approached me, wrapped their arms around my shoulder, and began filming without my permission,” Shaw said News24.
“The manager then asked them to leave the club.” After a while, I too exited the hotel through the front gate. But the girl (Sapna Gill) was standing outside holding a baseball bat. The way they all waited for me outside did not make them appear to be normal humans. “They were focused on something else. ” He explained.

He said that he step out of the car to remove the bat from Gill’s grip and prevent her from causing further harm, which capture in a video that quickly went viral on social media.
“They attacked my car with a baseball bat when I slowed down at a CISF checkpoint. They began targeting the windshield, hitting it three or four times; I was afraid of the glass breaking. Then I had to get out of the car with the goal of removing the baseball bat from her hands, otherwise she would have completely destroyed my car. So I grabbed the baseball bat from her, and the video went viral once she shared it. “Only that portion post.” Shaw continue.
“I wanted to leave the situation and leave that area because they were up to something, and I didn’t want my name brought into it. So I departed in my friend’s car while my BMW was still there, which my other pals assured me would make it back home,” he said.
Furthermore, Shaw admit that hes terrified during the encounter and believed the group would kill him. Despite the fact that his reputation called into question in the public eye. He went ahead with the legal action.
“I was terrified for my life; I believed they would kill me. For the first time in my life, I was terrified. Then we submitted the suit, despite the fact that I knew my name would be included. But I knew we had done nothing wrong, so we filed the complaint,” Shaw continued, explaining his concerns.

Prithvi Shaw also charge with molestation and bodily assault. However, police later told a Mumbai court that the charges were unfound. Shaw added that his friends did not touch Gill or her group, but they attempted to shift the narrative in their advantage.
“They got out and suddenly switch their narrative when the female who attack in my car began accusing us of hitting her. Shaw concluded, “My friends did not even touch the girl; you can check all of the cameras there.”
The 24-year-old is expected to be fit in time for the 2024 IPL. A solid performance in the 10-team event might put him back in the running for a national team spot.
