Ravi Shastri is greeted warmly on his Big Bash League debut. Ravi Shastri made his BBL commentary debut during the tournament’s fifth match between the Hobart Hurricanes and the Sydney Sixers.
The Big Bash League 2023-24 season is under underway in Australia, with spectators seeing five action-packed games so far. Apart from the thrilling cricket action on the field, Big Bash is also recognize for its all-star commentary team, which includes Ricky Ponting, Mark Howard, and Damien Fleming, among others.
Former India cricketer turned pundit Ravi Shastri join the league’s official broadcaster ‘Kayo Sports’ for the present 13th season of the T20 spectacle. The 1983 World Cup champion made his Big Bash debut on Monday, December 11 at North Tasmania Cricket Association Ground, Launceston, during Match 5 of the competition between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers.
Shastri greeted warmly by his co-commentator Mark Howard. Who refer him as “one of the biggest broadcast names on the planet.” Aaron Finch, who also in the commentary box, refer to him as the “king of commentary” and the “voice of cricket.”
Notably, Shastri is one of the most famous voices in international cricket, having contributed to some of the biggest moments in Indian cricket, including Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes, India’s World Cup victories in 2007 and 2011, among many others. Shastri’s arrival to the commentary team would almost certainly help BBL attract more Indian fans who can’t get enough of his upbeat voice.

Sydney Sixers won their second consecutive match of the season
Returning to the game, Hobart Hurricanes achieve 135/8 in their allocate 20 overs after being sent in to bat first. Caleb Jewell led the way for Hobart with 42 points (24). Tom Curran, on the other side, was Sydney’s top bowler, with figures of 3/19 in four overs.
In response, Sydney knocked down the mark in 19.2 overs, led by a brilliant innings of 60* (50). As a consequence, Sydney triumphed by six wickets, their second consecutive victory of the season. With two wins from two games, Moises Henriques’ team went to the top of the points table.
