People will see better results for Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez. Under his leadership, Hafeez urges the side to play a contemporary, aggressive brand of cricket.
Despite Pakistan’s bad record of losing the past 14 Tests in Australia, Mohammad Hafeez, the new director of the Pakistan cricket team, voiced confidence about the difficult three-Test visit.
Hafeez, who has not played a Test in Australia, urges the squad to play a contemporary and aggressive brand of cricket as team director and acting head coach. He sees the current losing skid as an opportunity rather than a hindrance.
“You’re winning when your challenge is exciting, when you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.” Our team’s aim is to go out there and do what we can, not what history says. The perspective is pretty clear: this is an exciting challenge ahead of us, and we can get greater outcomes if we work together. “I can’t speak for previous results, but from now on, inshallah, better results for Pakistan,” Hafeez remarked, according to ESPN Cricinfo.
Despite a new captain, the absence of an official head coach, and reservations about the bowling attack, Hafeez remains optimistic. He feels the chosen bowling unit has the capacity to win games.
“The bowling unit in this team has good bowlers; the best in the Pakistani system have been chosen.” I have a strong gut sense that the bowling lineup we have can provide winning results. When you take 20 wickets, you have a fighting chance of winning. “I believe our bowling is capable of accomplishing that,” he continued.

We will not play according to how another team plays: Hafeez
While there have been disappointments in recent tournaments, Hafeez highlighted Pakistan’s excellent Test series against Sri Lanka. He notes that the batting order is in good shape, and that now that Babar Azam has been stripped of captaincy, he expects his game to thrive even more than before.
“Every squad has its own winning method and mantra. We will not play in the same way as another team, but we will have to devise our own method for winning. Pakistani cricket has traditionally performed better when they are aggressive. That is a pretty obvious message to all of the players that we want them to play aggressively. We will not adopt someone else’s style; instead, we wish to develop our own distinct style.”
Hafeez emphasizes the need of embracing contemporary cricket and playing aggressively. He feels that by taking this strategy, Pakistan would be able to take the first step toward playing modern-day cricket.
“Modern-day cricket is not a pill that you swallow and you suddenly start playing it,” he said. “It is an intent, a way of thinking, that you want to play in a dominant position, to always be ahead of the game, and to bring in impactful performances.” Everyone at this level performs, but it is meaningless unless it has an impact. We must step outside of our comfort zones in order to achieve team goals and make an impact. “Hopefully, Pakistan cricket will take the first step toward playing modern-day cricket,” he said.
