The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Event Technical Committee approved Anamul Haque Bijoy as a substitute for Shakib Al Hasan in the Bangladesh team.
Anamul Haque, who played 45 One-Day Internationals, pick as a substitute after Shakib was ruled out due to a fracture of his left index finger sustained during Bangladesh’s match against Sri Lanka yesterday, November 6.
Shakib injure on the finger during the match against Sri Lanka and subsequently transfer to New Delhi for scans. An X-ray revealed a fracture in his index finger. Speaking further about his injury, National Team Physio Bayjedul Islam Khan state that the all-rounder will require at least three to four weeks to heal. Notably, Shakib will miss his team’s last league stage encounter in the present World Cup. As Bangladesh has already been ousted from the ICC event following a spate of defeats.
“Shakib hit on his left index finger early in the game. He batted on with supportive taping and painkillers. ” After the game, he had an emergency X-ray in Delhi, which verified the fracture on the left PIP joint. The recovery time is predict to be three to four weeks. Bayjedul informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that he will travel for Bangladesh today to begin his rehabilitation.
