Bangladesh’s cricket team faced a difficult decision on Friday to safeguard its players from Delhi severe air pollution. The squad landed in India’s capital earlier this week in preparation for their World Cup encounter against Sri Lanka on November 6.
The squad had planned three training sessions at Arun Jaitley Stadium. The first of which slated on Friday evening. However, due to deteriorating air quality, they were forced to alter their plans.
The Delhi administration declared an air emergency due to air pollution. The air quality index in several regions of the city topped 400. As a result, schools were cancel for two days, and construction and vehicle traffic were restrict.
“We actually had a training session today, but due to worsening conditions, we didn’t take the chance. ” Team director Khaled Mahmud said on Friday. “We still have two training days left.” There is a danger element since some of us developed coughing. We don’t want to become ill. We’re not sure if things will improve, but we have practice tomorrow. “We want all of the players to be ready for the big game on November 6,” ESPNcricinfo said.

Saturday training is also slate for the evening, while Sunday training is set for 2 p.m.
It is crucial to note that no conversations have taken place between the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about shifting the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka match.
This event comes on the heels of Indian batsman Rohit Sharma’s complaints about Mumbai’s poor air quality. He emphasized the need of preserving the ecosystem for future generations. To address the air quality issue, the BCCI agreed to eliminate fireworks displays for the remaining games in Mumbai and Delhi.
