VVS Laxman is expected to coach India against Australia after the ODI World Cup in 2023. The series will get off on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.
Several rumors in the cricket corridor claim that veteran Indian cricketer VVS Laxman will take leadership of the Indian squad for the forthcoming five-match Twenty20 International series against Australia. Notably, the series will begin on November 23, immediately following the current ODI World Cup 2023, at Vishakapatnam.
This scenario follows the possibility of current head coach Rahul Dravid’s withdrawal from the squad. Owing to his contract expiring after the World Cup. However, given the achievements of Team India in the tournament, Dravid may well be pushing for an extension of his stay, which is quite within his rights.
“VVS Laxman has always been in charge when Rahul has taken a break. The same thing is likely to continue for the series just after the World Cup,” a BCCI insider told Sportskeeda.
It would be intriguing to see how the issue develops for Team India. Whether Laxman is forced to take over for their five-match series against Australia.
