Amol Muzumdar named head coach of the Indian women’s team. “I thank the CAC and the BCCI for placing their trust in me and believing in my vision and the roadmap for Team India,” Muzumdar said upon his appointment.
The Cricket Advisory Committee, which included Sulakshana Naik, Ashok Malhotra, and Jatin Paranjape, interviewed the shortlisted candidates for the position of Head Coach of the Indian Women’s Team, and after thorough and thoughtful deliberation, the three-member committee unanimously recommended Amol Muzumdar to take over the role.
On October 25, the BCCI approved Muzumdar’s appointment to the role. Which had been vacant for 10 months following the dismissal of Ramesh Powar as part of a restructure.
During his 21-year career, Muzumdar scored over 11,000 first-class runs in 171 matches, including 30 centuries. In addition, he appeared in over 100 List A games and 14 T20 matches.
