Sourav Ganguly blasts Pakistan’s batting following loss against India

Sourav Ganguly blasts Pakistan’s batting following loss against India. India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in Ahmedabad.

Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly blasts the current Pakistan team is not capable of handling pressure, given their performance against India in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. After making a positive start, winning the first two games, Pakistan fell short against arch-rivals India, losing the game by seven wickets.

Ganguly stated that the Pakistan team during his playing career was exceptional. He also said that the current team might find it hard to make a comeback in the ongoing tournament if their batting lineup does not perform up to par.

“Pakistan was a different team during our time; this is not the Pakistan team we used to play against.” This team is unable to bear the pressure of batting. With this batting, Pakistan will struggle to make a comeback in this World Cup,” Ganguly was reported as saying by Times Now.

The former BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) president praised Rohit Sharma and Team India even more for their outstanding performance against Pakistan. India bowled first and limited Pakistan to 191 runs in 42.5 overs. The Indian hitters then successfully chased down the mark in 30.3 overs, extending their ODI World Cup winning record over Pakistan to 8-0.

“Rohit played superbly against Pakistan. India’s every department is doing well. Batting, bowling and fielding firing together and at the right time,” the 51-year-old added.

India versus Pakistan appeared to be a bilateral series; it appeared to be a BCCI event: Arthur

According to Mickey Arthur, Pakistan team director, the match between India and Pakistan appeared to be a BCCI event because it was played at a venue packed with Indian supporters.

“I’d be lying if I said that didn’t happen. To be completely honest, it didn’t seem like an ICC event. It appeared to be a bilateral series; it appeared to be a BCCI event. Tonight, I didn’t hear a lot of ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ coming over the mics.” Arthur stated following the match. He did, however, concede that it would be unfair to imply that a lack of fan support was one of the causes for their loss.

“So yes, that does play a role, but I’m not going to use that as an excuse because for us it was about living the moment, it was about the next ball and it was about how we were going to combat the Indian, the Indian players tonight,” he told reporters.
