‘Shubman Gill not ruled out yet’ – Rohit Sharma. Shubman Gill is ill, and my heart goes out to him. I care about his health. First and foremost, as a human person, not as a commander. “He’s a young boy with a fit body who will recover,” Rohit remarked.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma has provided an update on the health of star opener Shubman Gill, who is currently suffering dengue illness. Gill’s health issue has cast doubt on his availability for India’s first match against Australia in Chennai on Sunday, October 8.
Gill, who has been in fantastic form in 2023, notably in One-Day Internationals (ODIs), has amassed a staggering 1230 runs with five hundreds, is a mainstay in the Indian batting lineup. The thought of his disappearance hovers ominously, casting a pall over the Men in Blue. However, Rohit stressed the importance of the 24-year-old’s health over a quick return to the pitch.
“Gill isn’t feeling well, so I’m giving him every opportunity to see how he feels.” Not ruled out just yet. Shubman I’m sorry to hear that Gill is ill. I care about his health. First and foremost, as a human person, not as a commander. He is a young guy with a healthy body who will recover,” Rohit stated.

While the cricketing world awaits Gill’s health update, India skipper Virat Kohli expressed optimism about the team’s morale. The Indian camp is vibrating with excitement and resolve as they prepare to end their World Cup drought, with the captain declaring,
“The mood in the camp is excellent. As it will be before the start of each event. Skill-wise, I’m rather certain. “I’m looking forward to the game,” Rohit said.
Earlier, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid offered an update, claiming that Shubman’s health is improving. He also noted that they have a critical 36-hour window to closely monitor his status with the medical staff. When asked about the India opener’s involvement in the playing eleven, Dravid stated that the medical team has not yet ruled him out.
