Tim Southee, had a dislocated thumb and in danger of missing the 2018 ODI World Cup. The cricketer, though, has made significant improvement since then and has just lately begun bowling in the nets to warm up for the major competition. The 34-year-old made it clear that while he is not yet completely healthy due to some tenderness.

Notably, Southee arrived in Ahmedabad on October 3 and noted that his injuries had made for a hectic couple of weeks. In his career, Southee said he hasn’t faced an injury quite like this one. He continued by saying that before the World Cup, these ailments frequently cause players’ attention to wander. “This injury was brand-new. I’ve never experienced an injury like this. I suppose that when something like that occurs so near to a global event, your thoughts begin to turn there. Given the little amount of time we had, I suppose sitting down and calculating the quickest recovery time and the best way to go back was to hammer some screws and a plate into it and pray for the best. To bring me to this point, the procedure and everyone I’ve dealt with have been excellent. So let’s hope we can continue the healing process and arrive on schedule, Southee said.
