Adam Milne shines with four-fer

Earlier in the day, Adam Milne and Trent Boult hunted in tandem with the new ball to quickly dismiss both Bangladesh openers. Boult dismissed Tanzid Hasan (5 off 5) and Milne dismissed Zakir Hasan (1 off 5) to leave Bangladesh on 8/2. Towhid Hridoy (18 off 17) and Mushfiqur Rahim (18 off 25) both went cheaply, leaving his side at 88/4.

However, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was the lone fighter in the innings. As he went on to play a superb knock of 76 (84) with 10 fours in his innings. He receive no help from the other end as Bangladesh were bowl out for 171 in 34.3 overs. Milne was the pick of his side’s bowlers, taking 4/34 in 6.3 overs, while Boult (2/33, 6 overs) and Cole McConchie (2/18, 5 overs) both took two wickets.

New Zealand responded well, with openers Finn Allen (28 off 26) and Will Young contributing 49 runs for the first wicket. However, after a promising start. The visitors lost wickets on consecutive balls, with Shoriful Islam dismissing Allen and Foxcroft on consecutive deliveries. New Zealand were 95/2 after 22 overs, with Will Young (42 off 56) and Henry Nicholls (21 off 49) at the crease.
