Sanjay Manjrekar and Tom Moody select Pakistan players who may have become IPL favorites. Pakistani players were only permitted to compete in the inaugural season of the league in 2008.
The sixteenth edition of the IPL concluded recently, with CSK claiming their fifth title. A thrilling last-ball victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The competition is widely regard as the most prestigious franchise cricket tournament in the world, attracting some of the world’s best players.
Unfortunately, Pakistani players were only allow to participate in the league during its inaugural season in 2008; since then, due to tense political ties between the two countries, Pakistani players have been ineligible to compete.
Former cricketers Tom Moody and Sanjay Manjrekar, for example, discuss Pakistan players who, in a perfect world, would have been successful in getting IPL contracts. While Moody convince that Men in Green pacer Shaheen Afridi would be a top pick, he also mention Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shadab Khan as players who would have brought in a substantial payoff during the auctions.
“Afridi, Babar Azam, Rizwan, and Shadab Khan.” They have a lot of great players, especially in this format of the game. “Shaheen would be your No. 1 pick, he’d be box office,” ESPNcricinfo’s Tom Moody said.

Haris Rauf is one of the best death bowler: Manjrekar
Meanwhile, Manjrekar predicted that IPL teams will target a player like Haris Rauf, who may be an advantageous option in the final overs. He even mentioned Fakhar Zaman as someone who might have been on the team’s radar.
“Haris Rauf, one of the best death bowlers.” I’m more concerned with their bowlers than their batters. However, Fakhar Zaman would be an intriguing addition to some squads. Rizwan takes up the job of the anchor. “When Babar and Rizwan bat together, I get worry,” Manjrekar admit.
The IPL 2008 included players such as Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar, Shoaib Malik, Karman Akmal, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Asif.
