With six required in the last over, Kolkata Knight Riders were favorites to beat Punjab Kings on Monday, May 8, at Eden Gardens. KKR needed two runs to win their fifth match of the IPL 2023 season, but star pacer Arshdeep Singh bowled excellently to keep the visiting club in the game till the final delivery.
Meanwhile, Arshdeep completely misjudged his line and length in the final delivery, allowing Rinku Singh to hit a brilliant boundary and help KKR win a thriller.
Rinku seen celebrating in style with his colleagues after the event, while Arshdeep seen in tears. The teenager has previously performed admirably for his team, but he fell short on this occasion. As a result, he was quite disappointed and departed the stadium with teary eyes.

KKR move to number five in the IPL Points Table
following suffering in the first half of the IPL, KKR are back on track following a fantastic five-wicket triumph over Punjab Kings. The two-time winners are now rank fifth in the IPL points standings.
The Shikhar Dhawan-led team, on the other hand, started the season brilliantly but is now sixth in the table. Thus, in order to stay in the competition, they will need to win all three of their remaining matches.
Along with KKR and PBKS, three other teams presently have ten points. Rajasthan are fourth on the rankings with the same number of points, while Mumbai Indians and Bangalore are sixth and eighth, respectively. All of these teams are separated by Net Run Rate, thus the business end of the IPL will undoubtedly be a spectacle to behold.
Notably, Mumbai will host Bangalore on the evening of May 9, giving both teams a fantastic opportunity to win and climb into the top four.
