The BCCI announce the yearly player retainership for 2022-23, with Ravindra Jadeja receiving the highest salary. The contracts of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja have been upgraded to Grade A+.
On March 26, the BCCI announced the Annual Player Contracts for India, which would run from October 2022 to September 2023, with Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja moving up to join Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah in the A+ category.
KL Rahul, who given a Grade A contract last year, demoted to B. While Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya have both been promote from B to Grade A. Significantly, Pandya, who had progressed from Grade B to A in the 2020-21 cycle. Returned to action after being out for lengthy durations due to physical difficulties.

Suryakumar Yadav, who signed his first contract in 2021-22. Shubman Gill both promoted from Grade C to B. Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami kept in the same Grade A as last year. While Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohammed Siraj have also retain in the same Grade B as last year. Shardul Thakur, who has been demoted from Grade B to C, is a significant example.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav, who not retain in the last cycle. Awarded a Grade C contract, along with Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, and KS Bharat.
Shikhar Dhawan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, and Umesh Yadav have kept their Grade C contracts, while Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Deepak Chahar have been released. Ajinkya Rahane and Ishant Sharma, who were both in Grade B in 2021-22, have also been dropped.
The most notable increase is the inclusion of Jadeja in the A+ category. Which is valued INR 7 crore as opposed to INR 5 crore in Grade A. Meanwhile, the Grade B and C contracts are valued INR 3 and INR 1 crore, respectively.
