I’ve worked with Mark, and he’s the ideal coach for a women’s team: Najam Sethi

“I’ve worked with Mark, and he’s the ideal coach for a women’s team. Compassionate yet rigorous, pleasant but strict,” Sethi told ESPNcricinfo.

“He is a well-respected coach who worked tremendously hard for the team’s success during his last stay with Pakistan,” he continued.

“Players only had positive things to say about him, therefore we decided to bring him back, and he will join the squad in Australia with immediate effect,” the PCB head continued.

Notably, this would be Mark Coles’ second term as head coach of the Pakistan women’s team. He previously held this role from 2017 to 2019 before resigning due to family obligations.

According to reports, the Najam Sethi-led administration gave Coles a one-year deal for his second term, which he immediately accepted.

Coles led Pakistan women to seven triumphs in 16 WODIs and 12 victory in 30 WT20Is during his first spell. His previous coaching position was with Scotland women for a year, from February 2021 to February 2022.

Pakistan Women will play a white-ball series in Australia beginning Monday, January 16, consisting of three One Day Internationals and as many Twenty20 Internationals. They will then go to South Africa to compete in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup next month.
